Site Superintendent



A Site Supervisor oversees the construction process and is responsible for the overall construction activities, within the established design, budget and scheduling guidelines. They are responsible for the progress of the construction project. Site supervisors organize trades, deal with issues and direct staff.

Duties:

  • Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish.
  • Oversee day-to-day field activities
  • Managing a team
  • Supervise the activities of subcontractors
  • Prepare progress reports
  • Issue progress schedules to clients

Education Requirements :

  • Completion of high school is mandatory
  • Training through experience
  • College diploma in construction technology may be required
  • University degree in civil engineering

Program Description:

This program provides skills and knowledge to manage and co-ordinate all the elements of the construction site. Learn how to ensure that projects within the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) sector get completed on time, within budget and in a safe manner. Courses focus on site management procedures, estimating, construction law, risk management, construction safety and leadership on the job site.
