Construction Craft Worker



Construction Craft Workers prepare, excavate, backfill, compact and clean up a work site. They also handle materials as well as ship and receive parts. Construction craft workers primarily work in the construction industry governed by the Apprenticeship Certification Act (ACA).

Duties:

  • Load and unload materials and management of materials on construction sites
  • Installing and removing concrete forms, barricades, and other materials on construction sites
  • Mixing, pouring and working with concrete and asphalt, leveling granular materials
  • Assisting in aligning pipes, connecting pipes
  • Directing traffic at or near construction sites, signal for heavy equipment operators

    A high school diploma is required

Program Description:

Construction Craft Workers prepare, excavate, backfill and clean up a work site. This program provides  in-school training for this trade to learn safe practices and procedures gaining blueprint reading and worksite communication skills. Learn procedures for handling construction materials, equipment and tools safely on site, procedures for assembling and dismantling scaffolding, ramps, catwalks formwork and barricades at construction sites to industry standards of practice and occupational health and safety standards.
